Who We Are
The AFTT hotline was founded on March 23, 2023 and incorporated as a not-for-profit 501c(3) organization in July of 2023. The hotline was first created to be a central reporting site for victim-survivors of child sexual assault and sexual assault within the secretive church community known as “ The Truth,” 2x2 or “The Way.” Advocates intended to collect data to report to church ministry leadership who currently oversee state, national and international church organization. Our team reached out in order to inform current ministry leadership about reports of systemic CSA/SA that had been uncovered spanning decades. Initially, AFTT was hopeful that church leadership would enact changes to eliminate perpetrators direct access to minors and vulnerable community members and look into pervasive historical coverup of abuse.
As the number of reports of abuse increased around the world, it was soon obvious that ownership of injustice and support for victims was nonexistent. Without hesitation the team recognized a profound need to address systemic abuse and the severe mental health crisis of traumatized victim-survivors both active and inactive from the church community. AFTT has since coordinated and led a dedicated group of individuals and professionals to support and aid victims of abuse.
Our team is composed of volunteers and organizations who collaborate in supporting, documenting and connecting needed resources that are paramount to the healing of this community regardless of age or gender. We have created a survivor - centric support system that fits the needs of each victim - survivor from legal aid, trauma informed services as well as access to funding for crisis support. Our goal is to expand resources for each victim- survivor with communal care, therapeutic support, legal insight and funding to aid in the healing process.

Co-Founder
Cynthia Liles, Licensed Private Investigator
Cynthia Liles has worked in law for over 40 years and is currently a private investigator who specializes in child sexual abuse and sexual assault cases. She has been integral to hundreds of cases involving institutions of trust like public and private schools, churches, including the Catholic church, Assemblies of God and the Mormon church, the Boy Scouts and other youth serving organizations. She is currently working on the investigation of system-wide abuse within the 2x2 church.

Lauren Rohs
Lauren is a survivor, actress, artist and voice coach with a degree in piano. She is a Patsy Rodenburg Associate and specializes in Patsy’s presence, voice, and text technique. In addition, Lauren is a Reflective Horse® Mastery Practitioner. First-hand experience in the field of trauma informed care is the structure for her solid stance and guidance to empower victims of abuse. She continues to build collaborations with organizations that provide survivor care, such as Fund Recovery and Little Hooves. Lauren resides in New York City, where she has been focused on supporting victims/survivors since March 2023.

Denise Doucette, correctional counselor, retired
Certified in Sex Addictions and Sex Offender Treatment while working in the state of California. Trained in the State Certified Sex Offender Treatment prison program, State of Iowa. Denise spent approximately half of her 39-year career working in county jails and the state prison systems of California and Iowa. As a Correctional Counselor in Iowa, she facilitated intensive group therapy with convicted sex offenders. Before working in the prison systems, she was a probation officer supervising drug offenders in California.

Deborah Rose, FBI Special Agent, retired
Deb retired in 2015 from the FBI after 33 1/2 years, with over 20 of those years working as a Special Agent investigating crimes against children, kidnappings, bank robberies and other violent crimes, along with a myriad of White Collar and Cyber Crimes. For almost 5 years after her FBI retirement, Deb worked as an Investigator for a Fortune 100 power and utility company. Deb currently serves as a volunteer investigative consultant for AFTT.
